Zinc and Zinc Nickel Electroplating

This blog is the fifth in a series showcasing J&M Plating’s operation, our people, and what makes us a great place to work and do business.

Would you like to protect your fasteners and stampings from corrosion while giving them an appealing appearance? Look no further than barrel electroplating, your answer to efficiently preserving manufactured parts. Increase the life cycle of fastened components by protecting your asset with electroplating.

With state-of-the-art technology in addition to a foundation of expertly trained employees, we can help customers meet all of their zinc and zinc nickel electroplating requirements. Be confident your fasteners and stampings will receive the highest quality electroplating.

J&M Plating has been processing zinc electroplate since the company's beginning in 1986. Since that time, the equipment, process techniques, and process control monitoring systems have improved dramatically, making for superior results.

With a long history of experience and expertise in zinc electroplating and a skilled staff, J&M is a leader in the industry. A pioneer in electroplating, our roots stem back to working with Jessup Engineering when we co-designed the first fully automated zinc electroplating line in North America.

Our technologies continued to evolve when in 2019 we also began processing zinc nickel with the MacDermid Enthone ZinKlad™ 1000 and ZinKlad™1000B chemistry finish systems in a state-of-the-art barrel electroplating line with in-line baking and automated chromating. The ZinKlad™ 1000 (clear) and ZinKlad™1000B (black) finishes provide excellent corrosion resistance with salt spray performance that meets or exceeds 240 hours to white corrosion and 1,000 hours to red rust.

MacDermid Enthone ZinKlad 1000 and ZinKlad 1000B high performance zinc nickel alloy plating systems are approved to major automotive and industrial OEM specifications featuring:

• Excellent corrosion resistance

• Strong abrasion resistance

• High resistance to heat and light

• Powerful protection against galvanic corrosion

J&M processes zinc and zinc nickel electroplating in accordance with the AIAG CQI-11 system requirements. Following electroplating, parts are inspected by our qualified technicians to guarantee they comply with customer specifications.

We strive to provide personalized customer service and high-quality processing and have an on-going commitment to ensuring customer and employee success.

Our electroplating operation is proof that we can deliver on our promises, and our teams are ready to serve the fastener industry in the best way possible.
