Living the Quality Life

It’s easy to say, “We’re an industry leader.” That’s why so many companies do. But jobs done well set a company apart as truly dependable. For thirty-five years, we’ve grown by giving automotive and industrial customers the fastener finishing services they need, processed to exacting standards.

What makes J&M the best option? The foundation of quality that underlies every process and the benefits of the processes themselves.

A Foundation of Quality

Whatever you need for your fastener finishing, we’ve made sure we can give you the best quality around.

24/7 Operation—Around-the-clock production brings you your products in a timely manner, allowing you to meet or exceed customer expectations on every order.

Automation—Our goal to automate processes whenever possible reduces your costs, helps you meet or beat production deadlines, and ensures top quality.

Caring for Our Workforce—It’s often said that no matter how much J&M has grown, it still feels like a small family company. From our founding, we’ve focused on making it a great place to work. Founder Joe Morris often hauled in his portable grill to serve up steaks, chicken, and burgers to employees. Christmas celebrations became legendary for their generosity, with each employee drawing for gifts that ranged from $50 bills to televisions and computers. Providing recognition for deserving individuals and the entire workforce was—and is—a top management priority.

Just as importantly, we provide the scheduling, benefits, pay, training, and advancement opportunities that today’s workers are looking for, leading to high retention. When our workforce works for you, they are experienced, motivated, and serious about delivering the best possible product.

High-Quality Fastener Finishing Processing

Our processes give you “one-stop shopping” for your fastener finishing needs.

Heat Treating—We operate in accordance with AIAG CQI-9 system requirements to meet the quality demands of today's OEMs. We employ four continuous mesh belt furnaces with automated loading and pre-wash with capability to process 130,000 lbs per day. Quality is checked by our ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited lab.

Zinc Electroplating—We’ve been processing zinc electroplate since 1986, and our experience, highly trained workforce, and state-of-the-art automated lines have made us a leader in the industry. We meet AIAG CQI-11 system requirements and a wide range of exacting specifications.

Zinc Nickel Electroplating—Get unequaled anti-corrosion performance with the MacDermid Enthone ZinKlad™ 1000 and ZinKlad™ 1000B Zinc Nickel chemistry finish systems. These coatings provide salt spray performance of 240 hours to white corrosion and 1,000 or more hours to red rust. They also provide excellent resistance to damage from abrasion, galvanic corrosion, heat, and light. Our lines can produce 20,000 pounds of product per day.

Dip-Spin Coatings—Our Doerken Delta-MKS® microlayer dip-spin coatings also deliver 1000+ hour salt spray performance. Zinc phosphate coatings (available in light or heavy grain) act as a durable protection barrier while offering excellent retention of rust preventive oils and waxes, paint, and organic coatings. Like every J&M process, the techniques used ensure excellent quality and can be adapted to your exact needs.

Sorting Inspection—Not even machines get it right every time. The experienced staff in our sorting department provide an extra quality process that ensures your products reach customers in perfect condition. Sorting and checking is conducted by hand and with machine assistance; capabilities include dimension, thread measurement, and recess penetration, with special processes available. The department can also package and label your quality-inspected products.
